A pesar de los avances con las consolas a lo largo de los años, si hablamos de videojuegos , desde mi punto como jugador me inclinaria por el PC Gaming, asi es por las computadoras de escritorio...

Aqui prento 8 razones por las cuales esta es mi preferida:

1. LA PC ES UN MUNDO DE VARIEDAD

Actualmente a Steam se conectan más de 10 millones de usuarios, lo que demuestra que cada día son más los entusiastas que disfrutan la gran librería que supera la marca de 6000 títulos. Además, la plataforma de distribución ofrece —en numerosas ocasiones— ofertas y promociones con descuentos sumamente atractivos para incrementar tu librería a más de 300 juegos, o si eres un comprador compulsivo, te aseguro que no tardarás en superar la marca de 1000.

Steam no es el único distribuidor de juegos para PC y tampoco es la única opción disponible. Electronic Arts ofrece el servicio Origin, que es la competencia directa de Steam. Cuando inició Origin nadie lo quería y a pesar de ser considerado una segunda opción, la opinión actual de la comunidad es que supera a Steam en algunos aspectos, como la atención a clientes. Soy testigo de esto último: sucede que compré 2 veces Battlefield 4 por error y después de una rápida sesión de chat con Servicio al cliente, Origin solucionó mi problema. No quiero pensar en algún suceso similar en Steam, porque su servicio es terrible.

También existen iniciativas como Humble Bundle, donde por algunos dólares puedes adquirir paquetes de atractivos juegos con la ventaja de ayudar a alguna caridad de tu elección. I do not want to think about a similar event on Steam, because its service is terrible.

There are also initiatives like Humble Bundle, where for some dollars you can buy packages of attractive games with the advantage of helping some charity of your choice. GOG.com, the subsidiary of CD Projekt, also sells games that are not in another online store, and finally we find places like Good Game Store, that every weekend offers discounts of popular titles.

On the other hand, on the PC it is possible to install virtual machines to emulate a different operating system and thus enjoy other offers that do not have online distribution. For example, if you have an old compact disc with a game that does not accept your operating system, the solution is simple: install a virtual machine and run the game. Currently, learning how to install a VM is very quick and easy.

4. LA PC NO ESTÁ CONFINADA AL ESCRITORIO

In addition, there are specialized and free tools to improve the operation of the PC through a wireless controller, so it is not necessary to have a keyboard and mouse connected to operate the PC remotely. However, if you choose, you have to know that there is a great deal of wireless devices and accessories to make your sofa experience more enjoyable.

5. DIVERSIDAD DE CONTROLES

El teclado y el ratón son el armamento principal de los jugadores de PC, y en el mercado actual, hay una gran cantidad de dispositivos diseñados para satisfacer todas las necesidades. Eso sí, lo que recomiendo para un mouse no especializado es una plataforma —un mousepad— de tela con soporte de goma y limpiar frecuentemente los cojines antifricción.

En ocasiones el teclado y el ratón se ven superados por juegos donde la mejor opción es un mando análogo tradicional. Algunos controles de consolas funcionan sin inconvenientes y no necesitan instaladores para funcionar; el alámbrico de Xbox 360 de Microsoft es una opción muy popular entre los jugadores de PC —no hay por qué avergonzarse por utilizar éste o cualquier otro—. Los mandos de PlayStation 3 y 4 también son útiles, aunque requieren una pequeña configuración.

Fabricantes como Razer se han dado cuenta de que los controles de consola en PC son necesarios, así que actualmente diseñan versiones atractivas y con características para satisfacer diferentes necesidades. Por su parte, Microsoft lanzará próximamente un adaptador inalámbrico para usar el mando de Xbox One en PC.

5. DIVERSITY OF CONTROLS

Sometimes the keyboard and the mouse are overcome by games where the best option is a traditional analogue control. Some console controls work flawlessly and do not need installers to run; The wired Xbox 360 from Microsoft is a very popular choice among PC gamers - there's no shame in using this or any other. The PlayStation 3 and 4 controls are also useful, although they require a small setup.

Manufacturers like Razer have realized that PC console controls are necessary, so they are currently designing attractive, feature-rich versions to meet different needs. For its part, Microsoft will soon launch a wireless adapter to use the Xbox One controller on PC.

6. LA PC ES UNA PLATAFORMA DE APRENDIZAJE

En los tiempos heroicos del PC gaming —hace más de 25 años—, los pioneros de la industria aprendieron a hacer sus juegos en la comodidad del hogar. A lo largo de la historia hemos visto cómo se han construido grandes éxitos en el sótano de una casa gracias al entusiasmo de un pequeño grupo de fanáticos. 6. THE PC IS A LEARNING PLATFORM

What I mean is that if you have basic programming and modeling skills and are interested in developing a game, the Internet is full of online resources for the indomitable mind that is not satisfied with consuming. Have you thought that maybe you have the ability to create the next great independent feeling?

I like the PC environment because it is the launch pad for the next John Carmack. It may be that today a child who is a fan of Minecraft modules learns to schedule and tomorrow launches a graphics engine or challenges the paradigms of game design. I am confident that that will happen, it is only a matter of time.

7. UN MUNDO DE EXPERIENCIAS ÚNICAS

¿QUIERES LLEGAR AL EXTREMO? LO PUEDES HACER 

Lo que más me agrada de la PC es que ofrece experiencias únicas en su tipo. En la PC hay comunidades que se dedican exclusivamente a los simuladores militares, donde juegan una especie de Role Play en títulos como Arma 3 y también puedes construir una cabina para un simulador de aviones o de carreras, con instalaciones de más de 3 monitores y plataformas hidráulicas para incrementar la inmersión. No son la norma, pero es agradable saber que existen las opciones.

La PC también será la punta de lanza de la realidad virtual, pues una gran cantidad de desarrolladores modificarán sus productos y crearán nuevos para entregar una experiencia única en su tipo. Otras ofertas de realidad virtual, como Morpheus de PlayStation 4, serán lanzadas en el futuro, pero donde sucederá el verdadero progreso será en la PC.

Y en cuanto a exclusivas, la PC no pide nada a las plataformas propietarias. La lista no está limitada a series como Civilization, el rey de la estrategia por turnos; StarCraft y Company of Heroes, si lo tuyo es la estrategia en tiempo real; Grim Dawn y Path of Exile, si te gusta Diablo; S.T.A.LK.E.R. y Amensia, para los amantes del terror; Total War, para el general que llevas dentro; Arma, para el verdadero fan de los shooters militares o Digital Combat Simulator, si amas la aviación. 7. A WORLD OF UNIQUE EXPERIENCES

8. UNA EXPERIENCIA SOCIAL
